Some Highlights of the First 40
I would like to note a few achievements (and underachievements), anomalies
and such.
Pitching:
- Wakefield (being the last rotation starter acquired) has a 2.15
ERA and is leading a few other assorted categories.
- Pettitte has a 3.04 era.
- Moehler has a 3.23 era.
- Chris has a very impressive 3.35, 0.86 lower than the Ken's.
- Urbina has allowed 1.6 bb/9. keep up the good work.
- Pedro J Martinez has allowed 4.4 bb/9, Ashby 4.0. who would guess.
- Rick Reed (A Hunt*) really sucks.
- ditto on Kerry Wood.
- Chris's staff has allowed only 2 inherited runners to score. Steve
23 yet, Graham's 48.7% runners scored is tops while Steve is in
the middle of the pack.
- Graham's starters have a 6.32 ERA, Bob's first 4 picks in the
draft contribute to a team starting ERA of 5.92. a true reflection of their
respective records.
Batting:
- A- Rod is hitting .355! leads several and is in almost every
category. His TA leads even though he has only 4 walks, which is
amazing.
- the 'big curse' Frank Thomas and Jason Kendall are tied for the
lead in doubles.
- Barry Larkin is hitting .318 with a .563 slugging.
- Why is Ray Durham 9th in slugging? .579. Kendall and Larkin are
right behind him.
- Craig Biggio is hitting a torrid .339.
- Greg Vaughn has 18 homers.
and then, of course:
- Jim Thome .178 3 hr's - i've seen that before. traded
for that player. Actually, Thome was hitting about .135 when i traded for
him.
- Edgar .184 3 hr's - i do not recall that. is he
available?
- Larry Walker .222.
Fielding:
- Todd Walker 0 errors in 221 innings.
- Tony Fernandez 0 errors in 297.
- Nomar 4th in fielding pct at SS.
- Joe's team is 3rd in fielding with a 4 at 3rd, 8 at SS, 6 at 2nd
and a 3 at first. i would really like to know how that is done.
- I Rod threw out Womak (Doug has been caught only twice as a team).
others:
- league-wide we have scored approximately the same amount in the
first as we have the second inning. Even more in the third. huh?
- Ken's team is last in home runs, with Bagwell leading at 9
- Bob's team is first in home runs, with Galarraga and Durham
leading with 9.
enjoy the rest of the season.
thank you have a nice day.
