This is my latest in a series of "What if?" negro league disks. What would happen if the greatest negro league teams played against the greatest major league teams of the pre-integration era? (dead ball excluded - that will be another disc.) The main problem with trying to solve this replay is that the major league teams have a much larger roster than the negro league teams so that a season long replay is impossible using aim rules. However, I decided to take the rosters of teams in both leagues over a small period of years (from two to ten) so that each roster could be approximately the same size. The major leaguers are a conglomeration of those years with that team and the negro leaguers are basically based on my lifetime stats with some exceptions. I won't go into details except to remark that a player who played only half of the years will only be able to play half the games, etc. and that I also included the Yankees and the Dodgers from the early fifties just for fun, since they had such great dynasties. The teams are set up to play a 154 game season with lineups and rotations provided. Both leagues are amazingly well balanced and just about anybody can win every time you replay them! Here they are: League One NEW YORK GIANTS 1921-1924 NEW YORK YANKEES 1926-1928 NEW YORK YANKEES 1949-1953 BROOKLYN DODGERS 1947-1956 DETROIT TIGERS 1934-1935 PITTSBURGH CRAWFORDS 1932-1936 CHICAGAO AMERICAN GIANTS 1921-1927 KANSAS CITY MONARCHS 1921-1931 League Two NEW YORK YANKEES 1936-1939 PHILADELPHIA ATHLETICS 1928-1931 WASHINGTON NATIONALS 1924-1925 ST. LOUIS STARS 1924-1930 HOMSTEAD GRAYS 1937-1945 KANSAS CITY MONARCHS 1938-1942 HILLDALE DAISIES 1922-1928 Again, these are bck files, so you merely have to restore the organization B-LVFRAN.bck in League Manager. Have fun, Ted Kerchner Dizzygit@localnet.com
